Guided Kayak
& Snorkel Tours

Explore the incredible Kohala Coast!

Kayak and snorkel with us in a protected marine sanctuary or at a turtle cleaning station! The Kohala coast has incredible coral reefs and coastlines without all the crowds of Kona. Tropical fish are everywhere and the reef is alive and beautiful. Whether you're a first-timer or an experienced snorkeler, you're sure to have a great time!

We meet up at a Puako public beach access where we become immersed in huge coral gardens within minutes. We often swim with turtles, octopus, manta rays, eagle rays, dolphins and lots of tropical fish. From Jan-March, this can become a seasonal whale watching tour from the kayaks!

After snorkeling, we go to a nice beach for a light picnic of fresh local fruit and tasty snacks (and a photo op) before heading back to Puako Bay.

What To Expect

After a brief safety and paddling demonstration, we launch the kayaks and paddle to our favorite snorkeling spot. We take you up the coast past gorgeous beaches into a protected marine sanctuary and explore hidden underwater coral archways and tunnels.

Once we arrive, we tie the kayaks up to a bouy and pass out snorkel gear. We carefully explain how to properly use the gear and how to get in and out of the kayaks.

Your guide will be snorkeling with you and can help you find and identify all kinds of cool sea creatures. We know these reefs like the backs of our hands and take you to the best spots for seeing marine life. We often see turtles, octopus, eagle rays, manta rays, dolphins and lots of tropical fish. Sometimes we see spinner dolphins and from Jan-March we are on the lookout for whales!

After snorkeling, we get back in the kayaks and eat a light picnic of fresh fruit, snacks and drinks before paddling back to the beach that we launched from.
